Protected Mobility Tactical Trainer

Scalable, accessible and effective training for PMV crews.

The Protected Mobility Tactical Trainer (PMTT) is an innovative collective training capability for operators of the Australian Army’s Protected Mobility (Bushmaster, Hawkei and HX Series Trucks) and logistics fleet (G-Wagon, recovery platforms). The PMTT is a scalable and accessible tool for training soldiers on vehicle craft, tactics, techniques and procedures (TTPs), communications and a wide range of mounted combatant skills.

The PMTT is capable of conducting full mission scenarios from orders to execution to after action review with up to five vehicles per system. It is capable of interoperating with other LVC simulation systems via HLA and DIS.

PMTT systems are located at the following sites:

  1. Army School of Transport, Tobruk Barracks, Puckapunyal VIC

  2. 5th Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment, Robertson Barracks, Darwin NT

  3. Battle Simulation Site Enoggera, QLD

  4. Battle Simulation Site Townsville, QLD

  5. Army Logistics Training Centre, Bandiana, VIC

The PMTT can simulate a wide range of vehicles and subsystems, in a variety of tactical conditions and operational environments, providing realistic physical simulations of motion and an immersive experience for drivers, vehicle commanders and gunners.

The PMTT capability delivers training to over 1000 soldiers annually and is expanding to additional locations across Army, providing a flexible, accessible and future ready training capability.
